The purpose of this lesson is to affirm that their is only one sovereign God, whose name is Christ Jesus. Which was manifest in three different forms. To also clearly delineate that the so- called doctrine of the trinity is totally antibiblical, because it pretends to establish that God abides in three different persons.

 

1. THE DEITY OF CHRIST IN THE SCRIPTURE

  a) Isaiah 9:6 "...His name shall be called...The mighty God."
  b) Isaiah 52:6 "Therefore my people shall know my name:"
  c) Zec 14:9 "And the Lord shall be king...and His name one."
  d) Ezeq 34:11 "...I myself will search for My sheep and seek them out"

 

2. THE DEITY OF CHRIST IN THE HISTORICAL BOOKS
  a) John 10:11 "I am the good shepherd..."
  b) John 14:9 "...He who has seen Me has seen the Father;"
  c) John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word,...the Word was God."

 

3. THE DEITY OF CHRIST IN THE GOSPEL
  a) 1 Tim 3:16 "God was manifested in the flesh,..."
  b) Rom 9:5 "...from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally   blessed God."
  c) Col 2:9 "For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;"
  d) Col 1:15-16 “He is the image of the invisible God,”  

     

 FINAL NOTES

  a. God was in Christ reconciling us to Himself (2 Cor 5:19)
  b. To understand this incarnation is to know that the Devil is destroyed (Heb 2:14)
  c. The key to all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge is to understand this mystery. (this mystery also brings comfort) (Col 2:3)
